Comment: After graduation I attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland for a year and a half and then transferred to Florida State where I graduated in April of 1967 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I married and taught in Jacksonville for 3 years before we were transferred to Chicago. I was the Director of a Nursery School for several years and then Registrar for a computer company, had a son and a daughter, and later moved to Dallas for my husband to become a Captain with American Airlines. After 5 years we moved to Humble and retired here. My parents moved from Jax to be near us so we could care for them. I am an avid Genealogist, President of the Genealogy Society and active in the community. Five beautiful grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren complete my life along with traveling and helping others. | |

After 30+ years in the insurance industry (Life, Health, Pension and Employee Benefits), I retired. My husband Jack and I live in Tallahassee, FL and raised our family here. Our two daughters are grown with families of their own. One daughter and S-I-L are here in Tallahassee (FSU, RN degree), working in an administrative position for Capital Health Plan (local HMO) and our other duaghter and S-I-L live in West Monroe, LA serving as Admin Assistant to one of the Senior Pastors at a mega Baptist church. Our two granddaughters are also in LA. Needless to say, we spend a lot of time in the road visiting back and forth. I served on the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church Board of Pension and Health Benefits for over 10 years, getting to meet many of our clergy while protecting their benefits. It was an amazing experience! |

This website is awesome! What fun to reminisce... just wish I could be there to see everyone and to celebrate our (gulp!) 50 year reunion. Thanks to all who have worked so hard to make it happen. Know it will be a memorable weekend... can't wait to see pictures! My life after Lee, in a nutshell: attended Wesleyan College in Macon for 2 years; graduated with BA from FSU in 1968 and with MS from Vanderbilt in 1969; began career in speech therapy in Huntsville, Alabama; moved to Ft. Lauderdale, where I met my wonderful Gary (originally from Wisconsin), whom I married in 1974; blessed with a son in 1979 (lives with his wife here in Central Florida) and with a daughter in 1981 (lives with husband and our precious granddaughter in Julington Creek area, near Jacksonville); moved to Lake Mary (near Orlando) in 1988, where we still live. One last note, in case you're wondering how to pronounce my married name (a bit harder than "Hipp"): pea atch in teen (just like you thought, right?) |
