Comment:       Toward the end of a very full life with a husband of 43 years this October, two sons with all their activities and an elderly mother who required 24/7 care for six years of her life, living in five different states and visiting countless others, I decided with encouragement from my husband to go back to college.  I had begun Florida State University two weeks after high school and almost completed two full years.  Through the years I had taken additional core classes in several other colleges, but I was determined this time to complete.  I received my Associate Degree in Psychology, specializing in Christian Counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg; and, in May 2011, along with 10,000 other people of varying ages, I walked onto the University's football field covered in graduate & professors chairs, school banners, and rain ponchos in my cap and gown adorned with my honors cord.  It was well worth the cost and lack of sleep to have accomplished what I had set out to do and to feel the excitement swell in that stadium and within me!  It inspired me and I finished my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a speciality in Life Coaching, graduating summa cum laude in 2013.  More than likely I will go back for my Master's, after completing a publishing contract this next year.  Before then, it is reunion, reunion, REUNION!!!  Are you coming?  It is going to be great!  And even better if YOU come!

Kathy Wrenn (Ross)

Comment: My parents couldn't afford to send me to college, so when FCCJ opened in 1966, I started evening classes, slowly pecking away at college hours.  My 2nd husband generously put me on the college fast-track and I graduated from UCF with a degree in psychology.  Immediately I was invited to Wakulla Springs Conference Center to do a staff development seminar using the Myers-Briggs.  The compensation for the seminar was $500; however, I didn't continue to get a good return on the money spent on my education.  When asked my occupation, my husband said I was a professional volunteer, working for 5 yrs. with Spouse Abuse of Orlando, 5 yrs. in a residental treatment center for teenage boys, and then my favorite job as Director of the College & Career Center at Lake Highland Preparatory School, all with much personal fulfillment, but no money.



Today we are retired, living full time in Wolf Laurel, NC, an hour north of Asheville.  When not connecting with our blended family of 5 adult children and 17 grandchildren, we spend most of our time playing tennis.  Although I haven't been playing USTA League Tennis as long as Susan (Vaught) Tygart,  she allows me to play with her when she and Fred are up here for the summer.  Many of my tennis teams have won NC State Tournaments and one Sectional Tournament.  Even though it's snowing up here right now (10/31) we have our tennis gear in our car, parked at the bottom of our driveway, heavy coats and boots with yak tracks near the garage door, ready to go play tennis tomorrow.  (Indoors, of course!)

Comment: The pictures and directory took me back in time. Many great and wonderful memories to recall of my high school days and graduating class '64. Those were good times!
