Bonnie Reid Phelps-Attaway left us to be with the Lord on October 12, 2009. She was a graduate of Lee High School Class of '64 and had a life time career in the medical field. As we mourn her loss we are all reminded of all the unforgettable times we shared with joy and sorrow, laughter and tears: but always with love. He worked at the Bulk Mail Center for the U.S. Postal Service. Interested in genealogy, he was also a member of the Super Fitness Center and the Seminoles Canoe Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Pattie and Jennie Roney, he is survived by his sister, Patricia Manko (Michael) and nephew, Wayne Manko. Born to Carol (nee Beach) and Sam Root on October 3rd, 1946 in a Parisian psychiatric hospital–which was used as a general hospital during the war–Mark Woodson Root spent his first six months in France with his newlywed parents. He slept in a dresser-drawer fashioned into a crib on the ship bound for the U.S., where they resided briefly in Ann Arbor.
Over the next few years, they lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the family growing to include four beloved younger siblings, before settling in Jacksonville, Florida.

He was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. After graduating from the University of Florida, Fred worked for Martin-Marietta designing missile control systems. He went on to work for JEA as an Electrical Engineer.
